I've long been a w a r e o f C a t h o l i c M i s s i o n s I n Canada. At one point, I even thought about b e c o m i n g a missionary in Canada’s North because I was aware of the enormous need among our sisters and brothers in the vast Northern territories.

Thirty years ago, I had a chance to live and work with some tremendous Oblates of Mary Immaculate. This gave me an appreciation and an understanding of their work in serving the people of the North—men like Father Jack Davis and Archbishop Peter Sutton and their love for the people in Labrador. Working in Igloolik on Baffin Island about fifteen years ago brought home to me the reality of those needs.

I am so grateful that God has given me the means now to support Catholic Missions In Canada in a direct way, through regular contributions and also through the life insurance program that we read about in each issue of the magazine. I have been able to commit a significant portion of my life insurance to CMIC knowing that it will be able to assist those who give so much working in our missionary fields. Thanks, Catholic Missions, fordoing what you do! (Wayne Macdonald lives in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.)
