A year of joy with moments of sadness

CELEBRATING THE WORD

‘During our gatherings on Sundays, we proclaim the Word, we meditate it, we share it, and we sing it’

It has been a year of trial because we have lost many of our senior citizens. We trust that Catholic Missions In Canada will continue to pray for us and for all the donors who generously provide the funds. Without the presence of a priest, we continue to meet every Sunday. When leaving the disciples, the Lord’s words of farewell were: “And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Mt 28, 20. So we strongly believe that His presence is made known to us at the table of the Bread and at the table of the Word. During our gatherings on Sundays, we proclaim the Word, we meditate it, we share it, and we sing it. The Word becomes our strength for the whole week. Then we are able to break it for the little children who come to their Bible classes. And so the year goes by with its moments of joy and sadness. But I remain with a sense of having accomplished something positive with the people being attentive to the Lord’s calling. It gives me a great inner peace!
