Fisher of Men

Join us in supporting the Diocese of Whitehorse!

The Diocese of Whitehorse includes the Yukon Territory as well as the northern quarter of the province of British Columbia.

In an area of 723,515 square kilometers, there are 7,250 Catholics—or one Catholic for every 100 square kilometers ! Whitehorse has only 10 priests to serve 24 parishes and missions.

The great physical distances between missions make traveling—either driving or flying—a constant necessity.

A huge part of operational costs for the diocese of Whitehorse—including traveling— is provided by Catholic Missions In Canada each year.

He was ordained a priest in 1982, serving the First Nations peoples of British Columbia for many years, before becoming the Bishop of Whitehorse in 2006. With joy, he has taken up his task to become a “Fisher of Men.”
