The Oblate priest, Father Joseph Baril, long-time missionary in the north of Québec and Ontario and Labrador, was a recipient of our St. Joseph Award this year.

“Incredible distances separate the far-flung missions in the North, in places graced by exceptional beauty.”

‘Your help is very important for this mission. The community in St. Peter's parish, St. Paul's River in the Lower North Shore in Quebec, live in an isolated area which can be arrived at only by ferry and air. During the winter months, the ferry doesn’t operate. So, air travel is the only option but air travel is very expensive.’
—Bishop Jean Pierre-Blais, of the Diocese of Baie-Comeau

He slept beneath the moon,
He basked beneath the sun;
He lived a life of going-to-be,
And died with nothing done!

Total Mission Grants: $4.033 million (100%)
