Over 600 missionaries serve in home mission communities right across Canada. Help us fund their sacred efforts as they share the Gospel. Your caring and support keeps the doors of these beacons of Christ’s light open to all.
Catholic Missions In Canada answers the needs of missionaries and mission dioceses in many ways—from building churches to preparing children for the sacraments to supporting the day-to-day-day needs of mission work across Canada.
Your support helps fund these vital areas of need:
Missionaries (priests, sisters, deacons, brothers and lay leaders) living in impoverished, often isolated communities need funding for basic living expenses, heating bills and transportation costs.
Mission churches, rectories, and religious centres require maintenance and repair. Help keep our mission churches open for Sunday worship, Mass celebration and liturgy.
First Nations Ministry allows First Nations peoples to celebrate their Catholic faith within the richness of their own cultural traditions. Missionaries provide a faithful and loving presence in First Nations communities.
Children, youth and adults need to prepare for the sacraments and grow in their faith.
Lay Pastoral Leadership Programs train the faithful to lead others in the celebration of the Catholic faith in the absence of clergy. Community leaders need to be trained to lead liturgies, religious education and sacramental preparation classes.
Help fund the formation of these future leaders so they can share God’s Word and serve in our missions. Be inspired by seminarian James Zick’s story on how he took the other route to the seminary.
